Mitragyna speciosa, commonly known as Kratom, is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia, with a long history of traditional use for its stimulant and analgesic properties. The leaves contain alkaloids such as mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which interact with opioid receptors to produce pain-relieving and mood-enhancing effects. The chemical constituents from Butea superba consist of Mitragynine, 7-hydroxymitragynine and other active compounds such as Mitraphylline, Rhynchophylline, and Corynantheidine.
